Virtual Wines of Portugal Tasting Extravaganza
Join the Chopping Block and Ole & Obrigado, Portuguese wine importer and export, for a virtual guided wine tasting featuring one of the world’s longest-running wine producers. Sommelier, Christophe Bakunas, and Ole Imports marketing director and Portuguese wine expert, Erin Drain, are teaming up to bring to you an intimate evening as they explore the exciting "new wave" of wines coming out of this very old school wine country. We will explore from north to south, and touch on a little history and geography. Portugal is a powerhouse for being such a tiny country; come find out why and taste some excellent wines with us!

Not in the Chicagoland area? Order the bottles from Wired for Wine ($99 including ground shipping; tax in NJ, IL, and OK additional) by Wednesday, December 2nd 11pm to complete your experience. Christophe and Erin will be tasting four small-production wines, 1 rosé, 1 white and 2 red, throughout the class, as Erin goes into great detail about the diversity of the wines, the regions and the winemakers.
To enhance your experience, we recommend you’re tasting the same wines with Christophe and Erin during class. Order your four bottles of small-production wines by December 12th for curbside pickup on Tuesday, 12/15, Thursday, 12/17, or Saturday, 12/19 from 3-5pm.
Order one of our charcuterie and cheese plates to complete your evening, available for curbside pickup on Friday, December 11th from 4-5pm!
Our virtual tastings, via Zoom, are a fun opportunity to watch your sommelier in action. Our Zoom moderator will make sure your questions submitted through the chat option are answered during or after class. The tasting packet will be provided upon registration.
Since our stores remain closed for COVID-19, we unfortunately cannot accept gift cards as form of payment for virtual classes at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience!
